You guys know how I am. My running tag-line lately has been the past IS the future and that rings so true in so many ways. Yall also know the motivation, inspiration and energy in every aspect of my life comes from music. Its my soul, and I believe in that tag-line. There is a song I used to play, Dream Of Me, that made my skin tingle and my head spin. I could name and tag individuals here who used to float over the dance floor with me to that song during those late-night marathons in centre court at .:a secret place:. as well as in .:the meadow:. I used to tease and see who could guess what influenced the beat, beat...heartbeat vocal. Sadly, this track didnt get the recognition I felt it deserved. That didnt stop me from wearing it into the ground. Yall also know when I feel something from a song I dont let it go, and Ill bring it back over and over again and taunt with it as if it is new. Hell, I got a 15-year old track as my most requested song right now, eh? For a lot of reasons, its time to bring Dream Of Me back and feel it again. From the words of the man himself behind this track, Matt Consola, it was a labor of love. Brenda Reeds vocals are powerful, hypnotic, yearning, and for me even inspiring and motivational. I got to learn a little about her musical background this morning and how this track came to be, and yall do know how obsessive I am about the history behind the music that I present to you. Im gonna ask that those of you who understand and support what I try to do through the music, that you help me create a new awareness and energy for this song...by purchasing it and requesting it from your favorite DJ. My favorite version is the 7th Heaven mix, but there are several options to choose from. They are all stellar. Im sending a major thank you to Matt today for his kindness, generosity, faith...and making me feel this song all over again. Im on a high right now. Yall please...help me support. The past IS the future! Thats a good thing...and Im gonna show ya :)
