You have a ton of followers. I am asking for some help. My youngest daughter needs to have emergency reconstructive surgery on her throat. she has something called Laryngomalacia and Dysphagia. The Laryngomalacia basically means that she has a floppy airway and it causes her to have noisy breathing. The Dysphagia however is more complicated. It means that when she is drinking anything, be it milk, juice, water etc.. Sometimes her larynx doesnt close when she swallows which causes her to aspirate her drinks into her lungs rather than going into her stomach like a normal child. After performing a scope study on her today, Dr Mehta discovered that not only has she not had any improvement with her Laryngomalacia but its gotten worse. He also found that she now has something called a Laryngeal Cleft. The cleft causes all liquids to go straight to her lungs all the time and not just sometimes like we had originally thought. He said he didnt want to waste any time and scheduled her for surgery this coming Monday, November 24, 2014. She has to have several procedures done during this operation which include: A Direct Laryngoscopy and Broncoscopy, an Esophagoscopy with biopsies, an Injection Laryngoplasty with Radiesse Voice Gel, and a Supraglottoplasty.
