You have to hand it to old school Doctor Who: they mightve known as much as the current show actually knows about science, but they actually put effort into explaining things with made-up phrases like reversing the polarity of the neutron flow instead of throwing their hands up and saying timey-wimey every 20 seconds; at least they TRIED making it sound like the Doctor knew what the Hell he was talking about.
