You know, I read something tonight on the budget that was passed and all of the billion dollar goodies that are in it and it makes me sick. We are so far up to our necks in debt, that there is absolutely no way to comprehend the magnitude of it, much less how to get out of it. I dont have a whole lot of sympathy for people that are receiving assistance while they keep popping out kids. Or the illegal immigrants, as they both suck they system dry. The people I do sympathize with, are those who are on disability. They have no choice but to be on assistance and theres nothing wrong with that. (Theres nothing wrong with receiving aid for kids if people arent having kid after kid after kid.) I see the people I work with every day and the needs that they have and its very frustrating that they arent getting what they need d/t lack of money. We need high tech communication devices, more space, more staff, etc., etc. One guy in my room has so much potential to communicate and it pains me that the resources arent at our fingertips to help him reach his maximum potential. Yet for the feds, they owe so much money b/c of absolutely zero spending control; there is no limit for them. And then theres this young man whose life is so inhibited, and doesnt have to be. He just needs to communicate more effectively. Why is that such a difficult mission to accomplish? Why is a high tech communication device that is needed for a basic human function like asking for pie in the sky? It makes no sense. The balance of power in this country is on the side of government and lobbyists. We, the average people are not the focal point anymore and it makes me absolutely sick. So for all of you able bodied people out there who have had opportunities to work and dont, please get off your butt and help those who cant or dont have the opportunity to work. Everyone on assistance lives like royalty in this country compared to other countries. The people that need basic equipment to just to function at a fraction of what your able body can needs the money and resources youre using up. I have nothing against people using the system the way it was intended. I do have a problem with people sucking the country dry and a government that lets it happen. Done.
