You know Im in a good mood when.... Im improvising characters and accents left and right having a freaking ball doing it!! Somewhere along the line I forgot that acting was fun. But the more comfortable I become with myself, the more fun it is to just play. They try to teach you that in acting school...we even had a a class called play. But part of me was always aware of the teacher in the room....judging me. Am I being fun enough? I would think. And, of course, when youve left room to wonder, you probably arent having fun, or being fun - whatever that means. In elementary and early middle school, I was the queen of fun and ridiculousness. Then I got self-conscious. But Im loosening my grip the older I get. I want to keep learning how I can bring more joy in play into my life. And tonight, the quickest way is by throwing on an accent and running with the first crazy thing that comes to mind. And thank goodness I have someone to humor me and egg me on, rather than shut that impulse down. Goodnight!
