You know in those GIGANAIRE Telecom ads, when the guy says hes giga rich… you know hes invoking the phrase n***a rich right? Meaning as soon as he acquires any amount of money, he is inclined to spend it right away. No, Im not going to spell it out. It looks bad on paper. Now, when Chris Rock or Patrice ONeal talk about being n***a rich, its hilarious. But if its a white guy on TV selling broadband, isnt it just a tiny bit incredibly racist? Has anyone complained? I mean, I dont care if you dont care. If no one cares, I guess I applaud Telecom for getting away with something risqué without offending anyone. Many of my favourite comedians play with pejorative terms to my immense amusement. Im just surprised in these most PC of times, in this most PC of countries, that no one is outraged.
