You know the statement Like father / like son ? I have been on a quest. seeking the Father through the Son, and wondering where do I fit in? I have come to my end, and ..........I have come to my beginning. Whom do I resemble? Christ or............ Since the above phrase directly refers to a family resemblance . The Bible says We were created in the image of God, truly in His likeness we were formed . And we were created to be righteous and holy. But......... do we reflect that righteousness and holiness which is the way we glorify God? Or..... do we reflect something other than holy? something brutish.... something that more resembles .........an unholy thing? cynical,....prideful. something that promotes that old lie that we are divine, that we shall be like...................gODS!!!! Most of you are screaming by now thinking I am being blasphemous. but I say to you this desire to be god shows up every time we try to control our circumstances, our future, or the people around us. It is simply the nature of being human. But let me share with you what God has revealed to me lately. God does not want me to become a god, just to become godly. taking on His values, attitudes, and character ( Ephesians 4:22 ) I discovered what I believe is Gods ultimate goal for me, and it has nothing to do with my comfort! ????? I know right! My comfort is pretty important to me.. but it is less important to God who loves me. No instead of my comfort God is interested in my character. God wants me to grow up spiritually and become like Jesus, not grow up and be financially like Donald trump! ( though I wouldnt mind and I assure you friend that being like Christ means you can still keep your personality, just need to grow your character. God dosnt want us to lose the person He created us to be. God just wants us to be that person. God created me unique just like He created you unique, so I know He dosnt want destroy what makes us unique. So why does God care about my character? Because it is character that exemplifies the B- attitudes. Next time you become frustrated by your circumstances wondering why is this happening to me? Remember that life is difficult! We are partakers of Christ and sufferings. Why ? This like lighting, thunder, rain and sun makes us grow. Christians today ( myself included ) think being a Christian means abundant life.... Jesus promised it, right? Does this mean perfect health? comfortable living, constant happiness, and my favorite... INSTANT RELEIF FROM PROBLEMS THROUGH FAITH AND PRAYER?! heeeheeehee, I wish truth is we expect heaven on earth........Well let me remind you friend.. EARTH AINT HEVEAN!!!! Never forget that life is not about you (me ) We exist for Gods purpose, not our own. God would not provide heaven on earth when Hes already planned the real Heaven for you and I in Eternity! Our time on earth is to build and strengthen our character for Heaven. So remember that being like Christ is not imitating Christ , but... Christ inhabiting us.... living through us and we live in Him...... now thats oneness. and one thing that I finally get. God Bless the faithful....... those that aint given up....... You will fight till you take your last breath............ then comes rest.
