You know, today started out just like every other day. My cat woke me up way before I ever wanted to. I talked to my boyfriend before he went to work. Had breakfast, watched a couple shows online, then dropped my brother off at church so he can go to beach camp. Got home, played some Sims and Candy Crush Saga. Then my mom decided she needed to do some laundry. That is when all hell broke loose. For those of you that havent been to my house, I have a basement. Sort of. And this basement has a door that leads to the outside. Well, half of the floor of our basement was covered in water due to the outside sump pump no longer working for some unknown reason. So, after rescuing the Xbox 360 from certain water-logged death, I spent the next hour and a half bailing water out of the area in front of the basement door, sometimes with lots of help, while my mom went off to buy a shop vac and new sump pump. After I thought the outside water level was low enough to where I could take care of the inside, I started mopping up all the water that had leaked inside and more help showed up. Unbeknownst to me, the outside area was quickly refilling with more water. So that got bailed out again. My mom shows back up with a shop vac after all the water has pretty much been mopped up one way or another, of course. But needless to say, today was a very eventful day, and the two and a half hours I spent bailing water and mopping the floor were the two longest and most draining hours of my life.
