You know what I dont get? In the Top Gear Bolivia special, Jeremy says that the Range Rover was ruined by minkies. As with many British words, I had no idea what that was, so I googled it. He called the entire Midlands region cunts! LOL I dont get why that goes unremarked but something he didnt even say gets him into hot water. Heres the thing: on TG, Jeremy is a troll. He may be the nicest gentleman in the world IRL & on other programs, but his persona on TG is loud, brash, and cruel to others. (And I LOVE IT.) Richard is the adorable, feisty, wide-eyed, dithering, sweet one, James is the brilliant if pedantic Renaissance man & straight man/butt of most of the jokes, and Jeremy is the troll. These are characters. I have seen Richard and James host other shows, and Richard Hammond the narrator bears little resemblance to the Hamster. I kept waiting for that Richard to show up, but apart from a few self-deprecating jokes about his height that no one but TG fans got, that Richard was absent. I was sad but not surprised. You could see the personas emerge and amplify over the years. Jeremy is now on a short leash, but I hope he doesnt let it strangle his persona. The chemistry between those three characters is the best part of the show! Dont allow a buch of gossip rag minkies to silence you, Jezza. lol. You would hate this assessment but IMO you are the one with the most American traits, esp. your conservative political views, and your need to push the boundaries of what is acceptable and exercise your right to insult everyone equally. Hammond is too polite and nice for us and James is too intelligent. lol Be yourself. #topgear #jeremyclarkson
