You know what? I think one or both of my kids is going to have a nervous breakdown from all this homework. Do these teachers speak to each other? Do they know or care what their colleague is assigning? I swear every teacher thinks their assignment is the only thing the kids have to do that night. One teacher told me the new curriculum means my daughter can expect an hour of homework in that subject every day. The girl just started the 6th grade what, 3 weeks ago??? Listen, theres a lot of things CCSD does well and I know this is not unique to our district and believe me, I dont think the kids need more time to blob around in front of the TV, but yikes! My son does not go to sleep before 11:30, usually later. I am a teacher. My husband is a teacher. We support the schools and we believe homework can be a fruitful endeavor, but this is just getting worse and worse :(
