You know.... years ago, when I worked at Principal in DM, I was leaving the building with a friend, to go to my car. We came upon a homeless man on the street who asked us if we had a quarter for a cup of coffee. My friend, who was from Pakistan,... who I always respected, just went off on him and called him a lazy bum... and other not so nice words. She told him to find a quarter somewhere else. I was horrified with her actions. As she continued to walk on, I stopped and reached into my pockets and searched my purse looking for quarter... and for the life of me... I couldnt find a penny. I looked up at him... and looked into his sad eyes and told him I was so sorry. He said that is ok. I saw the pain in his eyes from my friends words... when he turned and walked away. After that....I always had a quarter in my pocket for him... but I never, ever saw him again. You know... sometimes GOD sends his angels to test us and see how we will respond to a call for help or compassion. IF this gentleman was an angel... then my friend failed miserably. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. - Hebrews 13:2
