You lot should work for the Weston Tourist Board. It seems to me that Weston was a lot better then than now despite Ian Heard et als admirably attempts with camera and PhotoShop... The fact is that parts of Weston have been ruined by cultural vandalism. Whoever approved the godawful metal brace along the seaside front wall should be publicly flogged, nice little earner that was for someone, backhanders galore at the Council that day... Oh yes the Council, unable to do anything about the old pier for the last, what 40? years, and incapable of putting together a package for the Tropicana but comes up with a nice little wheeze of turning WSM into Weston-syringe-Mare. I cant think of a place that has been so badly mismanaged. Look at the old photos, Weston was clearly a genteel, somewhat beautiful place but now I suppose we can only wait until it is decided that the road through the woods to Sandbay needs speed bumps and a toll booth and that Uphill Primary School needs knocking down to make way for a mosque or perhaps a drug treatment centre. What happened?
