You may aware that about 11.2 million people in India suffer from glaucoma and about 1.1 million have lost their vision. Due to lack of awareness, several cases still go undiagnosed. It is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. To increase awareness among people about Glaucoma and treatment of several eye related problems, an Eye Screening and Awareness Camp on Glaucoma will be organized by “Bhadreswar Netra Darpan Welfare Foundation” with the help of Bhadreswar Municipality at Dighra Health Centre, Bhadreswar, Hooghly on 9th March 2014 at 11.30 A.M. A team of Doctors from Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Medical College Hospital, Kolkata will attend this camp for treatment of various eye related problems and participating in a seminar on Glaucoma. More than one thousand patients will be benefited from this camp. A large number of school students and people of surrounding 20 villages will also be attended in this programme. On that day we will also inaugurate our website and starts accepting online registration for posthumous eye donation. We, therefore, most cordially invite you to be present in that programme and aware people about the necessity of early detection of Glaucoma to reduce the progression of the disease among people.
