You may have seen this program recently. What remains at the core of the issue the filmmakers are ‘exposing’, and what we state clearly in our segments is that institutional care does not work and is harmful to children. It’s not simply a way that pedophiles can gain access to vulnerable children, it is an approach that exploits children and breaks up families in the process. In the closing segments the filmmakers pose the question ‘…how can we protect children?’. Stop supporting institutional options is the answer, and focus instead on supporting families.
