You may recall the story of Jonah, how he was told to go preach - TopicsExpress

You may recall the story of Jonah, how he was told to go preach the word to Ninevah. You should note that Jonah was not completely yielded to that idea of going to the city. However, God had already called him, and appointed him for this very specific task. We know the results, Jonah preached to the city and their impending doom quickly arrested their attention and the whole city repented. That whole city was changed in a day. Some biblical scholars have indicated that this city population was any where from 150,000 to possibly as much as 600,000 people. That working of the Spirit through the prophet Jonah, took place under the Old Covenant. We have a better covenant and better promises, operating with greater glory. Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights. This is exactly what Jesus declared about Himself, For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40 NKJV). However, we know that the glory of the Father raised Jesus from the grave. It might get missed if we did not have any understanding over the significance when comparing this shadow or type—which was the glory raised Jonah out of the fish as well. Jesus was crowned with glory after being raised from the dead. One of the manifestations of the glory that we can recognize from Jonah, is that the whole city was transformed in a day by the glory of the Father. What is true with Jonah, is also true with Jesus. Can a nation be born in a day? We have more evidence now, knowing what glory was manifested through Jonah, after being in the belly of the fish. The glory that is manifested through the body of Christ, being greater, can transform a nation in a day. Do you believe this? Now if you believe this go to the hosting site below.
