You may wonder why we have posted this video, as it just shows a cat eating chicken - so what is so special about that, you may ask? Well, this is quite a big deal for Nero here, as he was diagnosed with Laryngeal cancer back in 2011. With a course of Chemotherapy he made a recovery. Thankfully he continued to be really well, until July this year when he started to have difficulty breathing - we rushed him in for chest x-rays immediately which showed that poor Nero had a small mass in his chest and fluid on his lungs. The prognosis was very poor - various options were discussed with Nero’s owners and after much thought, it was decided that we drain the fluid from his chest and re-start another course of Chemotherapy. The build-up of fluid continued during the first three weeks but the quantity drained was decreasing each time which gave us hope that the chemotherapy was proving effective, again. We are so happy that Nero has gone from strength to strength and is doing better than we imagined - this is why his owners wanted to share this video with us. None of us know exactly how long brave Nero has left but, all that matters at the moment is that he is happy and has a good quality of life. With organic chicken for tea, who can argue with that?!
