You might have known my Dad Dale Pushy Sweet My father used to - TopicsExpress

You might have known my Dad Dale Pushy Sweet My father used to coach little league in the 60s and 70s. Then for years he umpired the high school boys all the while playing mens softball in the over 35 years old league. Mostly for PPG, Certinteed(?) and some type of tree service. All the boys I grew up were coached by him and all the guys I had crushes on played with him. All us kids grew up on a ball field. Then about 5 years before he died he lost his site and I think we almost lost him. Then Toby came along and I think saved him. Him and Toby would walk around the city of Shelbyville daily. To Eagles, the Legion, the bank, or whatever needed to be done .With dad being a lifelong resident he knew exactly where he was at all times and if he forgot for a minute, he had Toby to help him. So people that knew him around town from ball playing now knew him from his leader dog. He started touring the grade schools and Jr high teaching about leader dogs and their importance. My dad was always working with kids, no matter how much he worked. Even back before it became the thing to do, my dad was a volunteer. Baseball, cub scouts, the schools. I miss him but many of you know him. He was a part of Shelbyville and Shelbyville was a big part of him. He loved his town. So while a lof of us on here remember places and things we did, Id like to remember a special person, at least to a few of us.
