You might have seen some news articles about dropping the lake level to accommodate planting millet for the geese...here is my position on the subject: Total BS ! From my understanding, there is some sort of mandate that requires the GRDA to drop the lake during this time of year so millet can be planted for migrating birds...geese and ducks. Has anyone noticed that the geese arent migratory any longer ? The geese are resident and a total nuisance.... not to mention health hazard.... It is also my understanding that while the GRDA is mandated to lower the lake level for the planting, no provision has ever been made to fund the actual planting. So....in all government wisdom, GRDA drops the lake level to be compliant and the millet is never planted ! Give me e break ! This is total BS ! The lake is a major recreational draw to this area. Someone needs to take a look at the situation and help us here at Grand Lake rid ourselves of the nonsense.
