You never know when one of lifes many lessons may present itself - TopicsExpress

You never know when one of lifes many lessons may present itself or at times how such a simple thing can have such a profound impact upon your very being or how you view a current situation or one that has chosen to stick around awhile longer. Over the course of a lifetime it is impossible to not allow life to put chains or anchors upon us that collect themselves in our memories, thoughts and how we go about our days. In ways some are pleasant in other ways they are truly the things that stunt our growth on a human level. Over the course of my career I have photographed several hundred animals of many sorts. Never did I think a crossed eyed cat would leave its mark on me in a way I never saw coming. Most cats when they are in the studio environment tend to become very shy and disoriented to the new and scary surroundings they suddenly find themselves in. I myself in the past month have been very much like Tucker was today, clinging to the comfort of a cage that represented a safe and comforting place to hide from the new and strange surroundings we both shared and now find ourselves in, hiding behind the open door to a new and wonderful world we could see but allowed our fears to keep us chained to the world we knew that felt safest. It started with a simple opening of the caged door, Tucker retreated as far into the cage as he could, slowly he began to see what was waiting just outside his comfort zone, he stretched a bit for a better view and slowly began moving forward until his nose crossed the threshold and his view started to become a much bigger world, He paused for a bit and then stuck one paw onto the ground outside the little world he had contained himself to. Much like someone testing the ice to see if what was once water had transformed to hold the weight of a living life. He followed it with another step forward until that lead to a few more. Suddenly he was outside of the safety his tiny cage once held. He paused for another moment as he gazed upon the new and magnificent kingdom before him each step forward taking him further away from the old and into a new world. Tuckers subtle bravery now turned into I will not look back but forward moment I myself have been seeking. It was a simple moment in life for both of us, for both it was a lesson learned, one that I will see in a much different way than Tucker did. I myself took that first step and tested the ice into a new kingdom that soon will thaw and reveal the beauty of fresh growth, Another step will follow and the newness of where I find myself will lead to cutting a chain or two as I like Tucker become comfortable with leaving the safety of the walls and cage that I once found safe but now find confining in many ways, today a cross eyed cat became an inspiration in such a simple way. Thank you Tucker...
