You remember how fun the original Raytown Round-Up Days were. They sold real buffalo meat, had several tents of really cool craft items. Started Sat. morning with a hugh parade(every organization was in and people lined streets for blocks to watch) and then would go to Raytown Baptist Church for wonderful chili. Camp Fire girls used to prepare several meetings learning how to wave and smile at the parade watchers and were warned several times if behind the horses, keep smiling when you passed the judges no matter what and be careful where you stepped. Dr. Larry Gillig always rode his mule in parade. Boy scout mothers baked cookies for months to sell in booth. Round-up days was always last weekend in Sept. no matter what the weather and everyone was in parade. Judy Evans RHS 65.
