You said goodbye to me this day. You held my hand, you called me Peanut. I told you I had to go pick the kids up at school. You looked into my eyes and told me not to leave Mom alone. I saw it at that moment that you would leave me that day. I kissed you goodbye. I called them all on the way home, but some would not listen. Mom was not alone when she said her goodbyes and your last moment with her was as full of love as your first. I know that you are together, finally after all these years on your anniversary. But I miss you Daddy. You held my hand and taught me to swim, ride a bike, and drive a car. You snuck me out to ice cream, slipped me money when Mom was not looking. You showed me how to walk with Christ beside me in my life. I made you proud, I gave you grandkids, and I fixed what was broken with me and Mom. Today is your death day, and the angels all will celebrate with you and Mom will hold you and you will smile but I will have an empty place always until we can see each other again. Today I will grieve, though I tell others not to mourn, I will make cupcakes and pizzas this weekend and think of you and know that for all eternity I am your Peanut, your little girl and I will stand strong for you.
