You should WANT to live in an egalitarian society. This is one step closer. PS religious freaks please stop PMing me telling me that promoting marriage equality is violating their rights and that I am a bigot for not accepting their views. Guess what people, in my religion, called reality, we have stepped beyond the notion that our lives should be guided by a story book written thousands of years ago. In my religion, we deal with things that exist, like the unnecessary suffering of thousands of people who want to properly love who they choose to love. Some have literally told me that gay marriage is a prelude to Armageddon. Perhaps. Perhaps a symbolic Armageddon... One that ushers in a new age of understanding and compassion. One that will wipe our eyes clean of the blinders of religion, stigma, and miseducation. You spend your lives trying to get to heaven. What if we are already there? What if this is all we have? This holy garden can be so much more fruitful (no pun intended) if we can learn to love each other unconditionally. Not PREACH unconditional love, but PRACTICE it. This is a missing link in that chain.
