You should all be aware of whats happening in #HongKong — the more watching, the more that the Hong Kong government and the Chinese Communist Party will have to answer to. Thousands of protestors — many of them students who have boycotted their classes — remain on the streets to demand democracy in the 2017 Chief Executive election. Crowds have spread from only occupying the financial district of Central to cover the city at large, including Admiralty, Wanchai, Mongkok, Causeway Bay, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong campus. Protest organizers have sent an ultimatum to the government, demanding the resignation of current Chief Executive CY Leung and threatening endless strike. Meanwhile, police have begun to fire tear gas into crowds of protestors with their hands up, a wild escalation in a city where peaceful demonstration is the norm. The autonomy Hong Kong has historically enjoyed — that I enjoyed growing up — will be all a dream, if its people dont fight for it. #OccupyCentral #HKStudentStrike #HKClassBoycott #HK928 #GlobalforHK
