You should be skinny as a rake for all the exercise you - TopicsExpress

You should be skinny as a rake for all the exercise you do... Now Im thinking about the highly highly active types here - Bricklayers, Roofers, Landscape gardeners, and wait for it....drum roll please.....group exercise instructors.....let that sink in. Many many people who are teaching fitness are struggling to control bodyfat. Now, thats got to make you stop an rethink the question Why would they struggle if its just about doing more exercise? The answer here is STRESS ACUTE stress that short intense bouts of training such as weights or HIIT provides is highly beneficial as it causes the body to adapt to the stress and get better. In effect we develop muscle, elevate metabolism - which leads to us becoming leaner and due to the relatively short percentage of our time it requires its a very small time investment in hard work for maximum returns. As a result most of our time can now be focussed on LOW stress. Perfect! It works - look around the weights room. That 4hr training week is getting guys results. So whats going on for the high calorie burning super active all day every day folks. Like overweight builders and aerobic instructors doing 3-4 classes per day? Well theyre adapting to. Except theyre adapting to CHRONIC unrelenting stress! This down regulates the muscle building and fat burning hormones massively. They are adapting to a high amount of activity and inadequate calorie intake....yep theyre metabolism is getting trained to be SLOWER...how else can you do all that activity without constantly eating? Simple, you learn to burn less calories per hour - fatloss disaster! What does this down regulation do for muscle retention? Yep theyre going to lose some of that for sure....unless they add some serious weight training and calories. But can you add this acute type of stress to someone whos already struggling with the chronic stress brought about by their career? Builders and aerobic instructors are struggling with this dilemma. The only practical solution is to reduce intensity at work wherever possible - its not advisable to hammer the class intensity if youre looking to perform weights also. The less demanding the day job the more focus can be given to the fatloss workouts on the weights that they should do. Frequency of weights needs to be lower. Effort given needs to be high. Theres negative stuff to undo remember. Managing stress is key to avoiding fat storage. So, when I get my stop doing more, stop believing excess leads to success head on youll hopefully see why I take this view. A short period of throwing everything into the mix can be beneficial. Doing it week in week out is seriously flawed in my opinion. So, Why do so many girls go to so many classes....why would you CHOOSE that? Learn the lesson from the builders - more is not better!
