You want to know why our district is failing, it is because of the idiotic leaders we have running it. A Chiropractor; Higher-Ed Bureaucrat; I dont even know what to call Stivender...a lazy non-skilled non-worker; and a fraud in the superintendents office! So, they tend to blame the poor performing schools on two things, attendance and poverty. So what do they do, they cut transportation to GET to school, and make the conditions a miserable hell when you get there. Ummm, yeah, thats reaaaal smooth there Sherlock! These idiots couldnt run a small office (and you can use Tod Howard as the literal example), yet we put them in charge of our school district? Well, lets give this a shot, if their plans work so well. Lets turn off the A/C and heat and paint the walls prison grey in all administrative offices, cancel all their lunch breaks (they can eat at their desk), create a timed policy that only allows them 6 minutes a day in the bathroom, forbid ANY non-essential work communication between each other, and put cameras on all their work stations for enforcement, with a required Saturday workday for any infractions. I bet they would love their jobs, decrease absences and get soooo much more done!
