You want to say I love you but the words just dont come out. Youre afraid you might get rejected and just dont say anything. Did it ever occur to you that the other person might just feel the same way? Wishes That Have not Found Words Another week has passed in which I didnt say the words. The time that Ive been taking slowly starts to be absurd. The fear to ask a question puts the answer out of reach. The lesson never learned becomes the one you should not teach. The picture seen but never felt is beauty left untold. Impressions left on open minds allow it to unfold. The treasure viewed but never spent will never reach its worth. Sometimes the things that mean the most revolve around the earth. My thoughts were captured at a time the danger was not present. I wrote the words my heart should speak while capturing the essence. The paper folded many times held tightly in my hand. I hope that she will read the words and somehow understand. The place arrives where we will meet. I view it now with pity. The beauty that we let go by was never really pretty. The time just struggles to get through the eyes of smaller needles. The answers that we get may hurt but seldom are they lethal. My focus wanders in the room. My eyes have met their folly. I smile as I often do, but screaming thoughts are calling. My heart is beating in my skull with never said emotions. My folded paper now awaits to set this love in motion. She stops and stands across from me. I want to touch the painting. My eyes grow wide and breath gets deep like just before Im fainting. She opens up her hand to reach a note that she has written. I look into her face and see now that she too is smitten. I give her mine, we read alone though words belong together. The feelings that she has like mine have slowly come to tether. The picture has been painted now and both of us are present. Perhaps its not the time that counts. The meaning is the essence.
