You will appreciate this picture so much if I tell you the story behind it. The tern managed to catch a big fish, and flew away with pride holding the catch firmly in its bill. However, the fish- still alive- made a last ditch effort to save its life, and struggled, the bird still holding the agitated fish. The fish struggled so much that it managed to escape, and was falling with gravity back into the lake. The bird was panicky- at the sight of losing the food it had earned with so much hard work- and I could see the falling fish and the diving bird, diving faster than the rate of gravity. The fish landed in the lake, and was about to witness the moment of truth, and at that very moment, wasting no time, the bird picked it up again, and was again in the air, having earned the same food again the second time. This picture catches that moment. Note the wings, just after the dive they are fluttering so fast that my camera with a shutter speed of 1/1250 sec ( 0.0008 second) could not fully freeze the flutter.
