“You will find more happiness growing down than up.” I sit - TopicsExpress

“You will find more happiness growing down than up.” I sit as a little girl so still, as if I am a porcine doll, if I move I will break. I see the world around me not as it is but as I am. So much fear, so much pain. With this little boy who lies beside me, just as sill and so quiet. I love him so much, he is my safety. He helps me to feel not so alone in a world that has left me alone in the dark. We observe quietly, hoping the monsters do not come out from the shadows. Hearing footsteps begin to come towards us, our breathing begins to become heavy as fear consumes us. I hold his hand so tight to assure him I am here, and that I will protect him no matter what. Through the darkness emerges a small light, one that we have not ever seen, one that feels warm with a sensation we do not remember feeling, yet it somehow seems familiar. As the light gets closer it becomes brighter, and begins to surround us. A small transition in my soul starts to take place. It’s like awareness that everything is ok, no more fear, and no more pain. I look over at him, sitting beside me, and see hope in his eyes for the very first time. We sit and feel as the light grows even bigger, taking us from this cold, damp, dark place into a beautiful field filled with wild flowers and grass so soft. He smiles at me with eyes so bright and I know he has no more pain. I can feel it in his soul that he has found peace. We both lay back simultaneously looking up into a whole new world, feeling the bright sun shine down and penetrate into our skin warming our little souls. Still we hold hands, but this time not out of fear, but out of connection. The soul connection that we will share forever. Happy is she who still loves something she loved in the nursery: she has not been broken in two by time; she is not two women, but one, and she has saved not only her soul but her life. ~G.K.
