You will see lots of Pete Seeger tributes and memories today -- all well deserved. Heres my tiny Pete Seeger story showing what a rad dude he was. In the mid 90s, I got pretty sick of the punk scene, stopped booking and going to most shows and put my energies into doing a tabloid newspaper called SOUNDS CELEBRATING RESISTANCE -- a free paper dedicated to as many forms of revolutionary music as I could cover. Locally, folks pretty much ignored it -- as is apt to happen around these parts sometimes - but it ended up spreading far and wide. One day I went to my PO Box and there was an envelope with a cute hand-drawn little sketch and a check for 100 dollars in it with a very sweet note of encouragement from Pete Seeger - the biggest and best donation I ever received for that project. Rad dude, good man, did so much big and small and touched so many peoples lives, he will live on. What a life he led!
