Young Labour Party candidate in #LE14 Aideen Carberry has signed up to the Focus Ireland pledge to vote against any reduction in homeless services or budget until there is a clear reduction in the number of homeless people. In January, Labour Party councillors on Dublin City Council blocked a proposed €6 million cut to homeless services. Labour Party councillors on South Dublin County Council did not claim conference expenses since elected in 2009. The money saved instead contributed to the building of a homeless hostel in the county. These are just two examples of the good work undertaken by our local representatives and why it is important to vote for Labour Party candidates in the upcoming local elections.
