Young Tiger NTR has arrived at the box-office with ‘Rabhasa’. Touted to be an action and family entertainer, Rabhasa has Samantha as the leading lady opposite to NTR and Pranita will be appearing as a second fiddle. ‘Kandireega’ fame Santosh Srinivas has directed the film and SS Thaman is the music director. Bellamonda Suresh presented the film and Bellamkonda Ganesh Babu producer Rabhasa under Sri Narasimha Productions banner. This movie has released today across the globe in record number of theaters and here is our review. Story: After heading back to India, Karthik (NTR) decides to win the heart of Indu as per his mother’s wish. Karthik joins Indu’s college as the head of Anti Lovers Squad and tried to woo Bhaagyam (Pranita). Things take a turn from here and Karthik gets involved with the families of Naagineedu and Jayaprakash Reddy. Karthik unites a couple and this leads to a fight between the families of Naagineedu and Jayaprakash Reddy. Karthik takes the responsibility of uniting both these families. How is Karthik related to Samantha? Why does Karthik want to unite the families? Why does Karthik try to impress Bhaagyam instead of Indu? That is the story of ‘Rabhasa’. Plus Points: NTR is the biggest asset for this film and he has once again excelled with his energetic performance. His performance in teasing scenes and emotional episodes are wonderful. Though the first half of the film is flat, director filled loads of entertaining episodes in the second half and the emotional scenes are good too. Brahmanandam is hilarious and he is the saving grace for the film in the second half. Songs are well choreographed and NTR’s dance movements made them look much better. Minus Points: After delivering a comedy entertainer like ‘Kandireega’, audience will expect something more from Santosh Srinivas. But this director has completely failed and came up with a routine script. Samantha’s presence was wasted and the director didn’t take enough care for her character. Pranita’s role was limited and she disappears all of a sudden. There are many fight sequences in the film but none of them seems to be interesting. Director copied most of the scenes from other hit films and common audience can easily understand this while watching the film. The Finer Things: There are 3 good things to talk about Rabhasa. First one is about the Young Tiger who did everything to entertain audience. NTR’s charismatic presence has covered lot of loopholes in the script he pulled off the character of Karthik with ease. Brahmanandam has become a pivotal artist in the star hero’s films these days and he is the saving grace in the second half. Though the album of ‘Rabhasa’ was considered as an average one, all the songs appeared good visually. NTR’s dance in Raakasi Raakasi, Garam Garam Silaka and Dum Dumare songs are good. Verdict: NTR’s charm and Brahmanandam’s hilarious role makes it a people repeatd To watch again & again Critic’s Rating – 3.6/5 Box Office Potential – Medium
