Your Classic Cartoon For Today: GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE The genius who is Jay Ward & his cohort Bill Scott produced 17 George cartoons that initially aired in 1967 on Saturday mornings on ABC. The half-hour show also featured the hilarious Super Chicken & upstanding all-American champion race car driver Tom Slick toons. George was a Tarzan parody voiced by Bill Scott, who earlier voiced Bullwinkle & Dudley Do-Right. Georges best pal is an ape named Ape (voiced by Paul Frees impersonating Ronald Colman) & his gal is Ursula, voiced by June Foray. Both are far more intelligent than George. George also has a pet elephant named Shep that he thinks is just a big doggie. Among Georges enemies is a mad scientist named Dr. Chicago (love it). https://youtube/watch?v=6ip2sk6sFik
