**Your Committee’s Response to the Draft Ripon City Plan** You may well have received or had sight of a copy of the preliminary draft Ripon City Plan and be surprised or concerned at the reference under the heading of Providing New Homes on page 13 which states both the football and rugby clubs between Mallorie Park Drive and Studley Road are hampered by our facilities and are seeking to relocate. The area has been identified by Harrogate Borough Council as a site for new housing. I can quite categorically state that the clubs Officers and Committee have not provided the Council with this statement nor do we support it. We have communicated with the Ripon City Plan Committee and informed them of same. Whilst the club does not own all of the land it currently uses, the whole area including the cricket field and football club has always been designated a green area for sporting purposes. I am certain that the majority of Riponians will support our position that the club remains at Mallorie Park. Would HBC allow the Stray to be developed for housing? That said, there are times when our facilities, grounds, parking, etc do come under pressure. The Committee are working on how best to manage this. We have the responsibility to maintain and develop all of the clubs facilities in the long term best interests of the members. To this end we will continue to consider the options and opportunities which might arise. We will both keep you informed and consult with you should matters develop. If you have any questions in this regard please contact either myself or other Committee members. Tim Wray President
