Your Ferguson, MO update: Peaceful protesters on a sidewalk in Ferguson have been confronted by 50+ heavily armed police with a armored personnel carrier and sniper aiming at the group. Police are advancing on the crowd and ordering them to go home. Citizens are asking what did we do? Ferguson police have entered a McDonalds and asked all journalists to show ID. Police are preventing an MSNBC reporter from reaching his camera crew for a live report. People, this is in broad daylight with media present - this is in America. Were supposed to be better than anyone else because we have freedom of assembly. Except, apparently, in Ferguson. I cant help posting about it. This is beyond wrong. Kudos to the one state senator who is sitting with the protesters and refusing to leave. I dont use this language, well basically EVER, but this is a police state. When will a state or federal authority step in and stop this abuse of power? Why are they allowing this to continue to happen? What would you be doing if this was your neighborhood? Update: Journalists are now being arrested. This is not Egypt. This is not China. This is not Iraq. This is Missouri. .
