The Jews themselves argue almost constantly over what makes one a Jew. Nonetheless, a great bulk of Jews today would probably identify themselves as atheists or agnostics, but also nonetheless consider themselves Jews. He must be considered a prime candidate for that problematic category with Lasalle and Heine, of the self-hating Jew.
