Your gift will make room for you and bring you before great - TopicsExpress

Your gift will make room for you and bring you before great people, according to Proverbs 18:16. The question is, are you making room for your gift? A God-given gift is to be cherished and cultivated. As illustrated in the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30), God is looking for a return on His investment. Have you made the same mistake as the third servant and buried your talent? Or are you actively multiplying your gifts with the expectation that the Master will be pleased at your work? I pray you are engaging in the latter. I know you want to be successful and productive. Do you want to know the secret to multiplying your gift? Staying in the presence of God and abiding in Jesus. Jesus said He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Our ability to bear fruit (be productive) is directly tied to our willingness to remain Gods presence and act in accordance with His will. Apart from His presence and His will, our efforts always fall short. Without Him we can do nothing. Many of us dream of accomplishing great things and rubbing elbows with great people. However, let us never diminish the importance of spending time with the Great Person who gave us life. Never allow your pursuit of wealth blind you from the One who gives you the ability to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). The best way to make room for your gift, is to make room for the gift Giver. In your private prayer time with God today, make the following requests: 1.Lord, show me Your will. Notice I didnt say ask God show me Your will for my life. God has a will that is directly tied to His Kingdom. Jesus taught us to pray thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. That suggests that there is a singular will that God is interested in establishing. By praying for Gods will, this keeps us from praying selfishly. It is as simple as saying, Father what is on your heart? Where are You moving? What are You doing in the earth. 2. Lord, allow me to participate in Your work. Now that you have sought His will, ask to be apart of what God is doing. The prophet Isaiah heard the voice of the Lord saying, Who will go for us? Isaiah responded, Here I am Lord, send me (Isaiah 6). Prayer is a two-way act; both speaking and listening. When we read the Word and pray, our desire should be to hear Gods heart. He is concerned about this world; so much so that He sent His Son to die for it. Until Jesus returns, the church are His arms and legs in the earth. Therefore God is looking to use willing vessels that are seeking first His Kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). I am confident that if this is your earnest prayer daily, God will begin to show you how to use your gifts to build His Kingdom. I believe that He will open doors and make room for your gift; not for your glory, but for His. Make room for God, and watch your gift make room for you!
