“Your work will be assessed and moderated and results will be - TopicsExpress

“Your work will be assessed and moderated and results will be ratified ready to be put into the student management system. In the meantime, once the official results date is reached, all students will received an AD grade (assessment deferred) which will be updated with the actual grade as soon as industrial action ceases (I really have no idea when that will be). However, graduating students will get their marks but they will need to email their lecturers with student ID number and full name; students can also apply for an exemption to have results issued if they are facing special circumstances or hardship. The email to apply for exemption is [email protected] with the title Exemption and an application form will be sent to the student. An Exemptions Committee will then view the application. It isn’t clear what the committee would regard as a special circumstance or hardship and I can’t raise the NTEU organiser on the phone at the moment but I will keep trying. However, there will be a wide variety of cases and anyone who thinks they have an argument under these categories should apply. Some examples might include: visa issues (international students); scholarship problems; not knowing whether you have met the prereqs to go on placement; marginal performance and therefore the possibility of exclusion; financial impact. If you know of anyone who will be impacted please ask them to contact me and I will assist them as much as I can. I will also try to find out what we should do if anyone needs to go to appeal as these timelines will also be affected. I am going to a meeting of School Business Managers and Student Administration tomorrow so hopefully I will find out how the Schools hope to manage this situation.” You can contact Liz on 5327 6577 or email [email protected]
