Youre getting a little out there for me, Emily. Youre a cool girl and a good person, but I must respectfully say goodbye. You know society is in the dumps when my views are considered so taboo that people would rather not be my friend than have to listen to my perspective, all the while, continuing to keep friends who are racist, bigoted, judgmental, belligerent and otherwise hateful. In other words, being a good person with extreme views is out there enough to detach from a person, yet being a hateful person is considered normal and qualifies as friendship material. Its all good, I dont need anyones friendship to feel validated. I am perfectly contented and happy in my being. But, surely this backward thinking needs to be pointed out, as its exactly this type of mentality that is holding us all back as a society.
