Youre mad about property damage? Youre mad about traffic? Youre mad about people burning the American flag? Youre mad people are yelling at cops? Well, let me tell you why Im mad. Im mad that I will have to raise my future black sons in a place that doesnt respect or know their worth. Im mad that I will have to keep in mind that they can be shot and killed at any moment by a vigilante or police officer. Im mad that I have to tell them not to wear hoodies on their heads so they dont look suspicious. Im mad that I have to tell them not to play their hip hop music loudly in the car because it can upset a White man who might subsequently shoot and kill them. Im mad I have to tell them that standing up for themselves might result in them being shot down. Im mad that I have to tell them to not reach their hands towards their pants to grab their cell phone because a cop may think their grabbing a gun. Im mad that I have to tell them IF me and their dad get pulled over, please start recording on your cell phone because a cop might break the window and use a taser on your dad even though he wasnt the one driving. Im mad that I have to tell them to work twice as hard as others. Im mad that I have to constantly tell them to be safe, to be cautious, to always look over their shoulders, and to trust no one (in or out of a uniform). Im mad that I have to tell my black daughters the same thing because they may end up like Renisha McBride, looking for help after an accident only to receive a gunshot wound and death. Some of you will never understand this, but be a little empathetic to my future situation and the current situation of so many others. Stop with your BS posts about black on black crime, riots, its not about race, a black man killed a white man, etc. You are reaching for something thats not there. You look like you ridiculous. Moreover, you look like you have no heart and for that I feel sorry for you and I hope this post ever so slightly opens up your minds and your hearts to a little understanding.
