Yousef Karsh was a world famous portrait photographer whom I once met in Ottawa. He was a very nice and open person to talk to and I asked him what advice he would give to someone who wanted to take good portraits. He told me that in order to get a good portrait you have to make the person relax and forget about the camera. "Talk to your subject and get him to tell you something personal. This will reveal the real human instead of his public persona". Good advice from a nice man. Karsh has passed on some years ago.
