Youth commits suicide in Ludhiana , girlfriend held for abetment. Gagandeep Singh alias Ginni committed suicide on Friday and the police arrested Manpreet Kaur alias Jyoti, with whom he was in a relationship, for abetment to suicide. The police also booked two others — Raju and Pawan — in the case for helping Jyoti. As per the family of the deceased, residents of Kabir Nagar, Jyoti used “to threaten him and was pressuring him to marry her ignoring the fact that she was older than him”. Rupinder Singh, brother of the deceased, said: “Ginni was in a relationship with Jyoti, but later they got separated as their ties soured.” His brother alleged that Jyoti used to threaten his brother saying she would commit suicide if marriage did not take place. Rupinder alleged that Jyoti threatened Ginni on Wednesday and he was very disturbed after that. On Friday, Ginni consumed poison to end his life. At that time he was alone at home.
