Youth vanguard task govt on security From LAWAL ABUBAKAR, Bauchi THE North East Youth Vanguard (NEYV) has called on the Federal Government to re-strategies its method of tackling the insecurity situation in the North East region just as it condemned the killings of innocent school children. A communiqué jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Japheth Philip and Secretary, Umar Faruk issued at the end of their meeting with representatives of six states ,Gombe, Bauchi , Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe and Maiduguri held in Bauchi and made available to newsmen in Bauchi, said “we are concerned with the present situation in the North East region which is alarming , We are therefore calling on the Federal Government to intensify and re-strategies on its mode of tackling the security situation in the country, as the crisis has left many homeless and dead and the region unsafe. According to the communiqué, the North East Youths are concerned with current insecurity situation in the region, political stability even as they want economic viability of the region. It expressed concerned over the persistent killings and bombings going on in the region of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, this according to the communiqué has retarded development of the region, we condemn in strong terms the killings of school children and burning down of their school buildings as barbaric. The communiqué also laments on the pitiable presence of Federal Government infrastructures in the North East such as roads, hospitals, “We feel the North East is marginalized we want to reposition ourselves as youth to speak with one voice as pressure groups who want development for their people and the area” it said.
