Youths Unemployment and IMO Moribund Industries; Why Gov Okorocha - TopicsExpress

Youths Unemployment and IMO Moribund Industries; Why Gov Okorocha Cant Revive Them. Imo youths constitute 65% and above of the Voting population. In a democracy based on majority rule, these youths should determine every election and therefore be a powerful force in every policy of government. However, Politicians and those elected to Govern by impoverishing the youths, they become emasculated of their power base and are turned into thugs by their oppressors. They are used and discarded after election. The recent immigration recruitment debacle made me conclude that something need to be done urgently to liberate our youths from this shackles of economic slavery and since they are the largest voting block, the best negotiating tool for an agreement with politicians is their votes. This informed the Pre - election contract between Imo Youths and elective office seekers. In the last election, Owelle Rochas Okorocha promised Imo youths that if elected, all the currently moribund industries established by Dee Sam Mbakwe will be revived and made viable to engage and employ many of our youths. But I was not sure even whether Okorocha knew the reason why none of those industries could not be revived by previous administration. The loan debt owned by each industry far exceeds the market value of the industries coupled with the unresolved legal wrangle surrounding each of the industry. As it is right now, Government in Imo State can only create employment in the state Civil service, Gov Okorocha have to kick start it by recalling of the sacked 10, 000 Jobs Imo youths who are gainfully employed by Ohakims administration, and government can also go further to create enabling environment for private investors to come and invest in other to translates to job creation.
