ZAMBIAN CLUBS SHOULD PROTECT THEIR FOOTBALL SLOGANS/ - TopicsExpress

ZAMBIAN CLUBS SHOULD PROTECT THEIR FOOTBALL SLOGANS/ CELEBRATIONS Over the past week a freind who supports Nkana met a group of people who began waving their hands above their heads in typical Nkana celebration. He joined in, moments later some people asked if he belonged to a political Party, he stated that he was a Nkana fan and found out that the celebration is linked to a political Party. The fact is that the celebration was started or popularised by Nkana FC. Zambian Clubs should begin to patent their slogans, trademarks and much more. Football and politics dont mix in Zambia and this can draw Nkana fans into being labelled as being from a Certain party. In England Songs like You Will Never Walk Alone, Glory, Glory Man United are patented and no one can use it without express authority from the clubs. Zambian Clubs need to follow suit and protect their Brands and also protect fans who know nothing of these political slogans from being victimised.
