SELF INTRODUCTION My Name is ________________________ and my Position in the Party is _______________ Presenting the English/Bemba/Nyanja/Kaonde/Lunda/Luvale/Lozi/Tonga 2. PARTY INTRODUCTION THE NATIONAL RESTORATION PARTY (NAREP) was founded in November 2009 and officially launched in March 2010. It was established with a vision to see an equitable and prosperous Zambia as an infrastructure and logistics hub, continental breadbasket and renewable energy superpower. The party was founded by MR. ELIAS CHIPIMO JNR, a Corporate Lawyer and Rhodes Scholar who graduated from Oxford University. Before going into politics, Mr. Chipimo was Managing Partner and Senior Partner responsible for corporate advisory work, mergers, acquisitions, investments and privatisations. NAREP is in all the 10 Provinces of Zambia, in 67 Districts and about 94 Constituencies. NAREP has 21,000 members registered in their database and 100,000 – 150,000 unofficial members. 3. THE NAREP VISION NAREP in its vision document indicates its desire to tackle fully the causes of poverty from its very roots. In order to do this, NAREP pledges to create an enabling environment that will fertilise growth and empowerment across the whole country so that the potential of every Zambian can be given the chance to be more fully realised. NAREP highlights its view that effectively tackling the causes of poverty will require the construction of a completely new economy; one that will move the nation away from its “line-of-rail” mentality to one that is focused on making rural communities a necessary and integral part of our overall economic development. The Party manifesto sets out a clear and simple path to national development. NAREP’s economic plan is anchored on four pillars namely: - A top 10 global producer of biofuels and new energy – (clean local energy production) - Africa’s number one agricultural producers – (Continental Breadbasket) - A major regional Commercial Centre – Industrial Hub (Trade of goods and services with Zambia serving as a regional inland hub) - Technological innovation NAREP’s aim is to transform the Zambian mind-set by promoting personal responsibility, economic development and social justice through value based leadership. NAREP believe that quality leadership at all levels of society lies at the heart of progressive development. Our mission therefore is to promote the development of quality leaders in all communities of Zambia. 4. THE NAREP VALUES (8 CORE VALUES) Excellence, Integrity, Responsibility, Service, Equity, Humility, Commitment and Sense of Community 5. THE NAREP VISION OUTCOMES These developments will provide free or affordable access to quality healthcare, education, water and sanitation and a good road network for every Zambian. NAREP believes that these developments can be achieved within 10 years with leadership that places excellence, integrity, responsibility and service above self-interest. i. 500,000 new jobs and enterprises each year. ii. 20 per cent flat rate tax for every Citizen leading to a major reduction of taxes for ordinary citizens iii. Titled land ownership for every Zambian Family. iv. Full electrification in rural, urban and peri-urban areas within 7 years with 60 per cent completed within 1 term v. Minimum of 10,000 kilometres of new all-weather roads within 10 years vi. Modern sanitation and housing in all districts vii. Conducive learning environment 3. Lamp-sum meal allowances UNDER NAREP Miners, Contractors and Suppliers will gain Economic Freedom through 1. Good Conditions of Service - No Casualization 2. Specialized Clinics and Hospitals UNDER NAREP Orphaned and Vulnerable Children – OVCs will gain Economic Freedom through 1. Improved Social Welfare System 2. Private Public Partnership in addressing these people 3. Skills training for self-sustainability 6. BUT AS FOR THE 20TH JANUARY 2015 PRESIDENTIAL BY-ELECTION, Our Vision is “Economic Freedom For Every Zambian” NEEP – NAREP EMPLOYMENT AND ENTERPRISE PLAN NAP – NAREP AGRICULTURAL PLAN NIP – NAREP INFRASTRUCTURE/INDUSTRY PLAN NEEP – NAREP EMPLOYMENT AND ENTERPRISE PLAN - Government spend over US$2.5billion each year on procurement of Goods and Services for government. - NEEP is a Plan designed to allow 10% of the above figure to be given to special groups of society so that they can be contracted to supply good and services to government. - The targeted groups are women, youth and the vulnerable people. - They can supply anything ranging from food stuffs for hospitals, prisons and schools, to stones for road construction and labour services to the same, to supplying of paper and books, vehicles and cleaning services, plumbing and boiler making jobs etc… - This Plan will put people off the streets almost immediately. NAP – NAREP AGRICULTURAL PLAN - From 1 hectare of farmland, a commercial farmer gets 10 to 12 tonnes of maize while a peasant farmer gets anything between 2 and 2.5 tonnes yield. - Commercial farmers test their soil to see if it requires fertilizer or lime if at all it is acidic while government distributes fertilizer all over. - NAREP proposes to every introduce new ways of faming which will improve the yield of our peasant farmers NIP – NAREP INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN - Continue from where the Late President Michael Chilufya Sata (MHRIP) left off but with serious prudence in expending. - Transparent Tendering Processes with no single sourcing - Planning, designing and costing of the infrastructure will be done before a project is opened for tendering. 7.
