Zachary update - once again, he has a significant amount of hearing loss due to some thick jelly-like fluid congesting it. He needs to have a sleep study (most likely within the next 3 weeks) to see if he needs to have his tonsils and adenoids out. The dr definitely wants to remove his adenoids because he feels this will help with the mucus build up which of coarse will help with his hearing but doesnt want to remove his tonsils unless its absolutely necessary due to the fact that children with ds tend to have a bit of a rougher healing period and may get dehydrated and such he said. Sigh....I always get so emotionally drained with these kinds of apts but were tough and for those who know zach, its hard to keep that little independent miracle down. Im sure hell breeze through this. Mom...not so much though. Lol
