Zalangam incident aftermath: Police arrests a youth for staging protest =>Police Monday said that it has arrested only one person for taking part in Saturday’s protest in the Zalangam area of Kokarnag. A police official told CNS that during the protest in Zalangam scores of youth attacked police vehicles and pelted stones on the deployment. “We have arrested a youth so far while others are still at large though we have identified them,” he said. The youth has been identified as Muhammad Ishaq Malik son of Habibullah. “A case vide FIR 149/2013 under section 147, 148, 336, 341, 427, 307 and 322 of RPC has been registered against the said youth,” police official told CNS. Pertinently, a married woman was allegedly abducted by unknown persons in the middle of the night on Saturday and taken to nearby forests to be released next day early morning. Meanwhile, shops in Kokernag , Zalangam and other adjoining villages remained closed for third consecutive day while traffic on the busy Islamabad-Kokernag-Sinthan road remained suspended. A massive protest was staged in the area demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for the abduction and molestation of the woman. (CNS)
