************ Zambia successfully presents 2019 Afcon bid*************** The Football Association of Zambia is pleased to announce that we have successfully lodged the bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations finals of 2019. The Zambia bid was filed at CAF headquarters in Cairo Monday afternoon 25th November 2013 by FAZ General Secretary George Kasengele. Its a very proud moment for all of us at Football House and we believe that our candidature to bring home the Africa Cup will be a success, FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya said from Nairobi where he has traveled ahead of the annual general meeting of Cecafa ahead of the the regions Senior Challenge Cup. Through the vision of our Government and in particular the support of his Excellency President Michael Michael Sata, we are able to proudly declare that Zambia is ready and willing to put on Africa’s showpiece event with new stadiums and infrastructure development. Zambia is prepared; Zambia is committed; Zambia will be ready! the1988 African Footballer of the Year and legend of six Nations Cup final tournaments said adding: We have indicated in our bid to CAF that we as a nation are united in this endeavor and together we believe we can be the best hosts Africa has to offer in 2019.
