______LoC flare-up can harm India-Pak ties: Mirwaiz_____ All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday said the recent flare-up on the Line of Control between India and Pakistan has the potential to harm the improving relations between the two countries. Addressing a gathering at the Bazaar Masjid at Bohri Kadal, the Mirwaiz stressed that both countries should demilitarize the borders and ensure the safety of Kashmiris living along the LoC on both sides of the divided Kashmir. He said that killing of Indian or Pakistani soldiers during border tension has always remained a cause of concern. Hence, Mirwaiz, said Kashmiris have repeatedly stressed upon both the nation to solve Kashmir to stop the wastage of lives on both sides of LoC. The APHC Chairman said a conducive atmosphere was needed to solve the Kashmir issue. He said that till basic issue of Kashmir is not solved, all other steps to stabilize the relations would prove to be a futile exercise. Mirwaiz said that improving trade relations, water, Sir Creek, and Siachen issues can’t be solved till creation of a favourable atmosphere. He said lasting solution of Kashmir issue would create a conducive atmosphere for addressing other problems existing between the both countries. He said the Kashmiris are the worst victims of tense relations between India and Pakistan. Mirwaiz expressed desire that both countries would show political prudence and would take appropriate measures to normalize their relations. Mirwaiz appealed people to observe eid with modesty as Kashmir including many countries in the Islamic phase were going through a critical phase in history.
