(a) - IS JESUS SELF-EXISTENT? … IS HE SELF-IMMORTAL? On the last night before Jesus died, He said to the disciples - “I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.” - (John 14:6). It would be a great loss to the disciples, IF they did not know who their Savior was and is, since He was about to die and return in forty days to heaven where He originated from. This truth is so vital for our understanding and daily walk with JESUS. (b) - WHAT DOES THIS TEXT, JOHN 14:6 MEAN? …. I will just give three points in brief summary; 1. Jesus is the WAY – He is the WAY that connects heaven to earth; and earth to heaven. There is no other WAY to get to heaven except through Him – (Acts 4:12). He was the ONE that led the WAY for the children of Israel from Egypt to the promised land called - CANAAN – (John 5:56-58; Exodus 3:1-4). He became human like us to show us the WAY to heaven since He came from there – (Philippians 2:5-8). 2. Jesus is the TRUTH – Every WORD written in the Old Testament pointed to JESUS who is the TRUTH, and is fulfilled accordingly as recorded in the New Testament – (John 5:39, 46). Jesus was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD – (John 1:1, 14). The WORD that proceeds out of His mouth is LIFE, because it came from HIM who is the TRUTH – (Deuteronomy 8:1-2). 3. Jesus is the LIFE – He is the Life-Giver. He created Adam and Eve and gave them the tree of LIFE to eat – (Genesis 2:16-17). He made heaven and earth – (John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1;16-17). He created all things. JESUS is coming back as King of kings. He will change the saints from being mortal to immortality like the twinkling of an eye because He has LIFE in Himself. He is self- immortal – (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Corinthians 15:52-55). JESUS is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is self-existent. He is the RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE – (John 11:25; Revelation 1:9-11). Anyone that has JESUS CHRIST HAS IMMORTAL LIFE – (1 John 5:11-12). While in humanity for 33 years, Jesus was still God. IF at anytime Jesus ceased from being God, then He could not have been God at all. There was not a time that JESUS is not GOD. Who does not believe that JESUS IS A SELF-EXISTENT GOD? …. Only a fool would say - “There is no God.” - (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). And only a fool would say – “Jesus is NOT God.” May the grace of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit be with us all today
